UbiQUITxt™ Privacy Policy

UbiQUITxt (“UbiQUITxt” or “program”) is a smoking cessation text messaging program of the Schroeder Institute® of the Truth Initiative Foundation dba Truth Initiative (“Truth Initiative”). UbiQUITxt is based on the latest science with new features and functions that are the focus of ongoing research. Personal Information
We collect your mobile number so that we can provide you with the UbiQUITxt smoking cessation text message program. When you provide us with this information, you consent to our using it to provide text messages, consistent with this policy. Once you sign up to receive text messages from us, we will use your mobile number only to send you messages you have opted to receive.  We share your information only with our own contractors, vendors, or agents who will only use it for the same purposes. Neither Truth Initiative nor its contractors, vendors or agents will ever share your personal information with anyone else without your consent, except in limited circumstances, such as complying with legal processes or preventing fraud or imminent harm. We will never sell your personal information or otherwise make it available for any commercial use.

We may share aggregated de-identified information collected from UbiQUITxt users without your consent with third parties such as research partners and sponsoring organizations. This information will not include your mobile number or any other Personally Identifiable Information.

Opting Out
We send text messages only to those individuals who have chosen to receive texts from us. If at any point you do not want to receive text messages from us, please text STOP in response to any message from UbiQUITxt. If we ever decide to use your information for a new, unanticipated use not previously disclosed in our privacy policy, we will post the policy change prominently on this page and provide you with the ability to opt-out of this new use.

Security
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or disclosure or destruction of our user’s data that are in line with industry standards. We restrict access to personal information to only our employees, contractors, vendors and agents who need to know that information in order to perform their jobs.

Modifications
We reserve the right to change any aspect of this Privacy Policy at our discretion. All changes will be posted to this website and will take effect when they are posted.
